Recorder Interface

Pick the recorder UI footprint that fits your screen space and interaction style.

Settings -> Recorder (Expert Mode)

Recorder Modes

  • Classic: full recorder bar with Chain and Spark context
  • Minimal: compact activity-focused overlay
  • Notch: UI integrated near MacBook notch area
  • None: no on-screen recorder overlay

How to Choose

  • choose Classic if you actively switch chains/prompts while dictating
  • choose Minimal for less visual clutter
  • choose Notch for always-available top-edge context
  • choose None if you prefer keyboard-first workflows only
  1. start with Classic while learning Spark/Chain behavior
  2. switch to Minimal once your setup stabilizes
  3. use None only if you are fully shortcut-driven and do not need on-screen state cues

Common Mistake

If you lose awareness of active mode/chain, switch back from None to Minimal or Classic.

Note

[Screencast Placeholder] Record each recorder mode during the same dictation so users can compare visual footprint.
