Pick the recorder UI footprint that fits your screen space and interaction style.

Settings -> Recorder (Expert Mode)

Recorder Modes

Classic: full recorder bar with Chain and Spark context
Minimal: compact activity-focused overlay
Notch: UI integrated near MacBook notch area
None: no on-screen recorder overlay

How to Choose

choose Classic if you actively switch chains/prompts while dictating
choose Minimal for less visual clutter
choose Notch for always-available top-edge context
choose None if you prefer keyboard-first workflows only

Recommended Progression

start with Classic while learning Spark/Chain behavior
switch to Minimal once your setup stabilizes
use None only if you are fully shortcut-driven and do not need on-screen state cues

Common Mistake

If you lose awareness of active mode/chain, switch back from None to Minimal or Classic.
